Laying under a warm summer night's sky glittering with golden stars. The morning drive to your favorite diner. Warm toast with succulent peach preserves and fresh squeezed pineapple orange juice. the waitress, while you can't pronounce her name, you will never forget her smile.
This pinot is a great friend of ours. It all started when he walked in wearing a suit and tie. He was gracious in his offerings of dark cherry, rich cola and butterscotch so we invited him to dinner. Arriving at the ranch, the suit was gone, the boots were on and the stories of well-worn leather and spice began.
Your best friend from childhood. The one who never told your mom. It takes awhile to grow an old friend. Late nights filled with an air of sweet honeysuckle and forgotten innocence. Sun soaked days by the lake - pops of cranberry, pomegranate, and vanilla float at the waters edge. Summer camp secrets about the counselor your swore you didn't have a crush on. The fine grit of dirt road when dad's vintage mustang saw the clock strike.
The last days of summer. Your favorite soft worn jeans, bare feet, windows down while chasing that county line one more time. The air is an intoxicating mix of rose petals, violets, hints of gardenia and the fine mist of a gritty dirt road. A shy smile evolves as the song on the radio beckons memories of succulent farmers market strawberries. Freshly baked pain au chocolat and hand picked cherries.
