Adventure junkie, thrill seeker, move maker and favorite friend describe you and this bottle!  Hailing from the albarino grape, this beauty was crafted from 14 days of leaving the juice on the skins.  Hang on a second: white grapes on the skins?  Yes!!! thats how the old world makes orange colored wine!  With fresh bright acidity, delicious stone fruit on the palate and a perfect sunset color - the road less traveled looks so very good!

This pinot is a great friend of ours. It all started when he walked in wearing a suit and tie. He was gracious in his offerings of dark cherry, rich cola and butterscotch so we invited him to dinner.  Arriving at the ranch, the suit was gone, the boots were on and the stories of well-worn leather and spice began.

From the very light harvest of 2024 we selected 18 barrels for this pinot noir blend. It is a combination of all the seven different clones from the vineyard, harvested, fermented and barrel aged separately. We like this wine to be a great expression of the traditional sta rita hills (srh) cherry cola flavors supplemented by earthly influences from the vineyard. We rack, blend and bottle the wine a year after harvest to make it a refreshing wine with lots of srh personality. 

Priced as the lowest pinot noir from srh, we believe this 2025 presents an amazing value.

It had been awhile, but the journey always brought them back together.  The attraction was intense, the flavors an intoxicating blend of deep cherry skins, smoldering wood fire, and exotic spice.  Wiser and a bit older, "lambda" showcases the 'magnitude' of great relationships - complex, but smooth and fulfilling.

Well worn jeans that whisper of planning, pruning, tasting and toiling about each detail.  Boots that tell the story of each harvest, each step walked among the vines. Cool foggy mornings and rich orange sunsets perfectly painted by mother nature’s brush. Each bottle’s story is written by hand with the first chapters belonging to us and the rich delicious ending all yours. Sharing our “home” with you is what we set out to do and lambda is the “magnitude” of that effort. It is the culmination of what we see when we look out upon our vineyard. It is our dream come true and it continues to unfold and teach us with each passing season.

You went to the mountains to get away, but you got into a little trouble instead… and you loved it.  A weekend of charred firewood, tanned leather and ethereal blue fruits.  Slow dancing, vinyl skipping… explosive black fig and mocha fanned by desire and time standing still.  The complex ‘correlation’ of life’s best moments.

Your best friend from childhood. the one who never told your mom. It takes awhile to grow an old friend. late nights filled with an air of sweet honeysuckle and forgotten innocence. sun soaked days by the lake - pops of cranberry, pomegranate, and vanilla float at the waters edge. Summer camp secrets about the counselor you swore you didn't have a crush on. The fine grit of a dirt road when dad's vintage mustang saw the clock strike twelve.

Every spring we taste though our 2 ½ year old vintage and evaluate every barrel. Hard work, yes! it takes us at least two mornings to get through all the pinot noir barrels. We carefully select the six best barrels for this special “cuvee”, blend them together and give them another four months of aging in new french oak barrels that were used for this vintage.

2023 was the latest pinot noir harvest we have experienced and we think it is an awesome blend and a perfect example of what sta. rita hills can do.

It's personal our 'gamma' is Rebecca favorite wine.  Always has been, always will be.  Just like the lady who loves her so - she is strong, with a spine of dark fruit and spicy notes of pepper.  There is no doubt that she can hold her own.  She is balanced, with complex layers of caramelized mango and river worn pebbles.  She is subtle, commanding a room with only a whisper of delicate white flowers.  She is a TRUE beauty.
